Space junk is becoming a slight problem for humans due to us not having a reliable way of retrieving broken/damaged or functioning objects up and around our orbit. If this problem goes unfixed, it could cause problems for future rocket launches or even the loss of space to put new objects into orbit. The UK has a satellite our orbit to track space junk and possible assist in retrieving or pushing that junk out of earths orbit, to make room for other things.
