An American explorer has descended nearly 11km (seven miles) to the deepest place in the ocean - the Mariana Trench in the Pacific.
Victor Vescovo spent four hours exploring the bottom of the trench with the risk of his submersible imploding if anything were to go wrong.
The dive was later verified to be 10,972m and Victor became the first person to reach the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean. Firstly, I find this really fascinating because I've always
wondered what it would be like to be at the bottom of the ocean, there is always the fantasy of what we could find sea monster, treasures and many more. Victor Vescovo has taken a
large step for humanity in discovering what lies below our planets ocean and I hope to this leads to commercial viewings and grand discovers, I am excited to see how this plays out.
