US Energy Department Rebrands Gas Exports as Freedom Molecules - Jason Miller - 05-30-2019

In a bid to support the increased export of liguid natural gas, The United States Department of Energy has expanded production at a facility in Quintana, Texas and stated that more "molecules of freedom" could be produced. This expansion is expected to provide 3000 jobs in the area.
Although the term "molecules of freedom" may be interpreted as the US being committed to supporting green energy, there is currently a move underway by Trump administration that may reduce climate change legislation. It's not clear why they used the term freedom gas however it is likely to signify a disconnection from dirty energy. Interesting analogy is that when the US was upset with France for being opposed to the invasion in Iraq, they rebranded french fries and french toast to freedom fries and freedom toast.
