I found this article posted, it talks about how scientists go to extreme lengths to keep Antarctica the same.
An example of the extremes they go to is that they do not allow scientists to bring their own food all of it must be"vetted and specially packed to reduce extraneous packaging". They also do not let any meat with the bone on it to come through to reduce the chance of a new bug or parasite being introduced to the environment. Another example is that anything that can be recycled is compacted and anything that is not is sent to a landfill.
