Using Earth land formings to understand Mars
An event that took place January 2015 that had people expecting problems but rather scientist say, "We can use the HTHH on Earth to train us to understand Mars." The HTHH is an an island that emerged between two islands. The island grew out of the Hunga volcano, a 1.3km high mountain that was submerged under the southwest pacific. Scientists have been monitoring it using a high resolution satellite imagery as the believe that if they can monitor its time lapse photography through its erosional cycle that could possibly help them in what to look for on Mars. If they can a time lapse they are hoping to tell that water on Mars was tens of hundreds of metres deep and find a way t cause the same erosional work. Microbial communities build up around the mineral rich waters that gush from the cracks on hor rock. Could it be possible that we have found hope for Mars?

The prospect of life on Mars has been something scientists have been frequently questioning and within recent years, more time and effort has been devoted to this thought. If scientists are able to use HTHH as a subject of study to observe the microbial communities that reside there, we may gain more insight into the environment and the posibility of the sustainability of life, even if it is as minor as microbial life, on Mars. I believe that scientists should monitor HTHH closely because it may hold the answer to not only life on Mars, but also a more in depth understanding of the environment on Mars and a greater insight into how the planet works. Even if HTHH is not an exact replica if those found on Mars, it is the closest thing on earth we have to Mars' surface and therefore, we should not waste this opportunity to seek answers. Therefore the prospect for a future on Mars maybe be plausible depending upon the findings on HTHH.
