I also agree it is smart to invest time and money into researching mars and learning more about it. If we can study mars well enough, we could potentially start moving groups of people over there over the course of the next 50-100 years, and let earth heal from all the negative effects of pollution, animal extinction, etc, that we have caused. This Insight Lander could show us very important things about mars, if the mission goes well.
