Decreasing biodiversity and it's threat to food production

Biodiversity for food and agriculture is all of the species that provide us with food, fibre, and fuel, as well as the organisms that support food production. Although our population is growing rapidly, expecting to reach 10 billion by 2050, we are relying are a small amount of food sources. Nine species of plants make up 66% of crop production , while a handful of livestock species make up majority of egg, milk, and meat sources. What is frightening about this is that these species are under threat. These threats include climate change, pollution, over harvesting, and many others. Even though nothing as extreme as a famine is predicted, it is not unlikely that, if these declines continue, something that severe could occur. This issue is worrisome as many people, including President Trump, believe climate change is a myth. By ignoring the effects climate change has on our world, people like Donald Trump are threatening the lives of future generations.
