Decreasing biodiversity and it's threat to food production

I agree with you and find this issue extremely concerning. I believe that there is not as much recognition as there should be for this particular issue. Biodiversity is important, not only for resources, but also for the earth itself to be healthy and to thrive. The fact that the human population is expected to grow to ten billion by 2050 is awfully worrying. Our population, which is now over seven billion, is extremely unsustainable. We are already unable to feed all the people on the planet, and this issue will only grow as the population grows. We are currently facing a problem with marine life, and how it has exponentially decreased the last few decades. Coral reefs are one of the most diverse ecosystems on our planet and many of them are dying out as a result of over-exploitation, as well as over-harvesting. In addition, as our population grows, we will continue to pollute, we will continue to over-harvest, and we will continue to watch climate change worsen as we do nothing to fix it. This will only damage the earth and negatively impact our planet's biodiversity even more. Our use of resources is terribly unsustainable and, like you said, by ignoring the effects of climate change in our world, we are threatening the lives of future generations, as well as the health of our planet.
